According to the National Fire Protection Association there are 2.3 times more home-cooking fires on Thanksgiving than any other day of the year. And 74% of those fires are from cooking. The majority of those fires are from the stovetop but with the popularity of deep fryers many fires are started outside the home too! If you are traveling by car AAA is predicting almost 55 million people will travel 50 miles or more. And according to the National Safety Council each year over the Thanksgiving period (Wednesday to Sunday) there are over 420 deaths due to traffic accidents. And this year they are predicting more drivers on the road than years past. So please drive safe.
